Exhibit A: what we do to websites ← Drag the line

Sheet 01 / 09The problemRev A · Drawn by LWD

The most expensive website is the one you don't have.

"We get all our business from word of mouth" is a great sentence, right up until the mouth stops. Here's what running without a website actually costs:

No. 01

You don't exist on Google

When somebody in Durham searches "plumber near me" or "best barber on Ninth Street," they find your competitors. Not because those folks are better at the work, but because they're findable.

No. 02

A Facebook page is rented land

The algorithm decides who sees you. The layout says "we haven't gotten around to it." And if the account locks up tomorrow, your whole online presence goes with it. You should own your ground.

No. 03

The trust gap

Roughly three out of four people judge a business's credibility by its website. No site, or one from 2011, quietly reads as "are they still in business?" That doubt costs you calls you never knew about.

The fix is simpler and cheaper than you think. Here's exactly how it works, and exactly what it costs.

Sheet 02 / 09What we buildScale 1:1 · No jargon

Everything you need to be open on the internet.

One shop, four trades. We don't sell you "digital transformation"; we build the thing, make it findable, and keep it standing.

Design & buildA site that looks like you charge properly

Designed for your business, not adapted from a template. Hand-built, quick to load, and yours outright: every page earning its keep, from the headline to the phone number.

Mobile-firstPerfect on the phone in their pocket

Most of your customers will meet you on a phone screen, probably while standing in a parking lot. Your site will be effortless there first: thumb-friendly, fast on weak signal, tap-to-call.

Search setupFound by neighbors, not just friends

Google Business Profile, local keywords, honest page titles, and speed scores Google respects. When someone nearby searches for what you do, you're on the list, that's the whole game.

Support & hostingWe stay on the job

Hosting, security updates, and small changes handled on a simple monthly care plan, or a clean handoff if you'd rather run it yourself. Either way, nothing rusts.

Sheet 03 / 09How it gets builtFirst call → live site

Five steps. One week. Zero jargon.

This is the actual sequence, not a marketing diagram. Every project we take runs this exact route.

  1. The discovery call

    Day 1 · 30 min · Free

You talk about your business; we listen and translate. You don't need to know what a "CMS" is; telling us how customers find you today is plenty.

You get: a fixed quote and a launch date

  2. Design

    Day 2

We design your homepage in real pixels, no vague mood boards, then revise it with you until it feels like your business wearing its best clothes.

You get: a design you've signed off on

  3. Build

    Day 3–4

The approved design becomes a real, fast website: written in clean code, tested on actual phones, checked against slow connections and bright sunlight.

You get: a working site on a private link

  4. Launch

    Day 5–7

Domain connected, email hooked up, Google notified, everything double-checked. Then the switch flips and your business is on the map, literally.

You get: your business, live on the internet

  5. Support

    Ongoing · Optional

Join the care plan and we keep it fast, secure, and current, or take the keys and run it yourself. You own the domain, the files, and the passwords either way.

You get: a site that never quietly rots

Typical timeline: first call to live site within 1 week. If we quote you a date, we hit it; that's not a stretch goal, it's the contract.

Sheet 04 / 09The workBuild registry

Proof of craft, starting with the page you're reading.

We're a new shop with old-school standards, so our registry starts honestly: build № 001 is this site. The concept builds show the same hands at work.

№ C-004: LandscapingConcept build

Straight talk: № C-002 through C-004 are concept builds; the craft is real, the clients aren't (yet). As client sites launch, they take over this wall. Yours could be № 005.

Sheet 05 / 09Why LaunchwebThe honest ledger

Why hire the new shop in town?

Fair question. Here's the ledger: what you get from us that the big-agency route and the DIY site-builder route both fail to deliver.

  • We're from here

Durham isn't a "market segment" to us; it's home. We'll meet you at your shop or over coffee on Ninth Street, and your site gets built by someone who knows why the water tower matters.

  • The quote is the price

Fixed pricing, agreed before work starts. No hourly meter, no scope-creep invoices, no surprises. If we underestimate the effort, that's our problem; it never becomes your bill.

  • Days, not quarters

Big agencies schedule kickoff meetings about kickoff meetings. We put a launch date in the contract, typically within 1 week, and we hit it.

  • Plain English, full ownership

Every decision explained in words a busy owner can use. And when we're done, you own all of it: domain, files, passwords, photos. No hostage situations.

  • Small business is the whole business

You're not the little account subsidizing our enterprise clients. Shops like yours are the only thing we do, so your project is never the one that slips.

Sheet 06 / 09PricingPosted publicly, on purpose

Fixed prices, posted in public. Imagine that.

Most agencies make you book a call to hear a number. Ours are right here, and the number we quote is the number you pay.

Sheet 07 / 09Word of mouthAs heard around Durham

What Durham businesses are saying.

A few words from owners who took the leap.

★★★★★ 5.0

I'd put off a website for years because I figured it meant months of back-and-forth. Launchweb had us live in a week, and it finally looks like the shop we actually are.

Marcus T., Bull City Fitness

★★★★★ 5.0

They asked good questions, wrote copy that actually sounds like me, and didn't try to upsell me on stuff I didn't need. Exactly what a small shop needs.

Renee A., Ninth Street Flowers

★★★★★ 5.0

Our old site looked like it was built in 2009, because it was. The new one loads instantly and customers actually bring it up now.

David O., Trinity Park Auto Care

Sheet 08 / 09Fair questionsAsked & answered

The things owners actually ask us.

What does a website actually cost?

$299 or $499 to launch, plus $150–$220 a month, covers most small businesses: the packages above, no asterisks. Bigger or more custom builds get a fixed quote after a free call. Whatever number we agree on is the number you pay, even if the job runs long on our end.

How long until I'm live?

About 1 week for most projects, first call to launch. You get the launch date in writing before we start. The usual bottleneck is photos and words from your side, and we help push those along too.

I honestly don't know what I need. Is that a problem?

That's the normal starting point; most of our clients have never bought a website before. The discovery call exists exactly for this: you talk about your business in your own words, and we come back with a plain-English plan and one price. No homework required.

I don't have photos, a logo, or any writing.

Almost nobody does. We help write the words, we source photography that doesn't look like stock, and if you need a simple logo we'll sort that out honestly. None of these are blockers, just line items we plan around.

What happens after launch? Do I pay forever?

The build price is one-time. The monthly fee ($150 or $220, depending on your package) covers hosting, security updates, and small content changes; cancel anytime, or take a clean handoff and run the site yourself instead. You own the domain, files, and passwords either way.

I already have a website. It's just… old.

Rebuilds are half the reason we exist; you saw the sliding "before" at the top of this page. We keep what works, redirect every old link so Google doesn't lose you, and retire the rest with respect.
